HOT pink ladies in action! (Pass it on!)

November 15, 2012

Dear Hot Pink Activist,

Happy anniversary! This week CODEPINK celebrates 10 years of creative resistance. Here is our gift to you – a new video of highlights from the past decade of hot pink action to share with your friends and activist community.

We're reflecting on what we've learned from the past decade. Gayle wrote about 10 lessons learned here. Medea shared her thoughts on 10 years at the CODEPINK Golden Gate Bridge peace march this past weekend, and wrote an article on Huffington Post about organizing for the next four years of Obama.  You can also read reflections on our anniversary tumblr and facebook page.

We are marking our anniversary by doing what we do best: taking action! In San Francisco we  staged a drone die-in outside Senator Feinstein's and Congresswoman Pelosi's homes and marched across the Golden Gate Bridge. In DC we literally “deflated” the Pentagon in a theatrical action outside the White House and held a press conference to put forth our peace platform to President Obama and Congress. Hearing about the Israeli attack on Gaza, we rushed over to protest outside the Israeli Embassy in DC, and will continue to join emergency actions throughout the country this week.  Tonight in Los Angeles we'll do a banner hang over the freeway during rush-hour, and tomorrow in NYC we'll gather for a dinner celebration to toast to the memories, and recommit to future campaigns.  Read more report backs and see photos here.

Thank you for all you do to be CODEPINK!

Onward ever,
Alli, Holly, Jodie, Medea, Nancy, Rae, Sam, and Tighe

PS: Thanks to everyone who donated last week to support the Lower East Side Girl's Club relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. On Tuesday, Jodie delivered a check for $10,000 from all of us – the girls are overwhelmed with gratitude and the funds will go a long way toward providing food, clothing, supplies, and long-term assistance.
