Hilo's Weekly Peace Vigil
Friday, May 19th 2006  3:30-5:00 PM
Hilo, HI

Jim Albertini of Malu 'Aina Center for Non-Violent Education & Action has been holding a Peace Vigil at the Federal Building/
Downtown Hilo Post Office since September 12, 2001. Every week he creates a new leaflet with thought provoking information and hands them out to hundreds of people who drive through the intersection. There is a group of dedicated people who participate regularly including beautiful, lifelike figures of Martin Luther King and Gandhi. There are also a good number of people who'Honk for Peace', give us the 'peace sign', or a 'friendly chaka' as they drive by to show solidarity.

All pro-peace people are welcome to join us to show support for ending the war in Iraq and preventing future wars.

This is a great opportunity for CODEPINK to make a vibrant presence in Hilo Town and
to become involved with the Big Island Peace Ohana.
