Republicans in Congress are delusional. Sorry... that's too kind a portrayal. More correctly, Republicans are unpatriotic... although they truly don't seem aware. They're unconcerned with Americans in America and undeterred by the diminished prestige of America and Americans throughout the global world.

So what do Republicans care about?

For one... the accumulation of wealth. Add to that, world supremacy, or the "Mr. Universe Syndrome," advocating America as the essence of muscular perfection... posed, gleaming, self-obsessed, flexing mega-strength with which to rattle the rest of the world.

For Republicans, America is the universal symbol of power. Nothing matters more than sustaining that power... or the pretense that it truly is there.

Because Republicans are obsessed with showing strength to the world at all times, they cannot fathom impeaching George Bush. Not because they believe in his leadership. Not because they covet his intellect, his strategy, or him as a man. Nothing of the sort. Republicans can't fathom impeaching George Bush because according to them, weakening the Bush presidency weakens America to the world. For Republicans, nothing is worse than an America without muscle... an America unable, at will, to bully and conquer the world.

This is where Republican delusion sets in. For some purely illogical reason, Republicans either don't care or don't understand that on every continent of the world people despise George W. Bush. Indeed, when Bush was "re-elected" to office (a questionable outcome at best), the universe denounced the American people, calling them foolish, menacing and uninformed.

At the same time, millions upon millions of Americans also despise George W. Bush. He is the catalyst for domestic contempt as he is the catalyst for the scorn of the world.

In the eyes of the universe, nothing could elevate America more than impeaching George W. Bush. His deliberate removal from office would prove his policies aren't shared. His intentional expulsion would exonerate Americans from blame in torture and imperial crimes. His ouster would show that Americans seek a kind and compassionate world. That they honor the cultures of others. Respect their histories. Uphold their paths.

Republicans must stop being cowards. They must step up to the honorable plate. Their mission is not to uphold incompetence. Their goal is not to support just one man. Elected officials, Democrats and Republicans alike, are charged with making America an inspiration to enhance a struggling world. This cannot be accomplished under the reign of the globe's most abhorrent irresponsible man.

As long as Dick Cheney and George Bush are in office, respect for America will continue to wane. As long as Cheney and Bush are in office, their supporters will lack national and international acclaim.

Bush and Cheney's impeachable acts have been delineated time and again. Verifiable volumes have been written. Substantiating debates have been held. Why sacrifice our nation to safeguard one decidedly dishonorable man?

Republicans define themselves as the national security party. This is far from an accurate depiction. The longer they support George Bush, the less believable that handle becomes. The sooner they punish George Bush the more viable that pronouncement becomes. The longer George Bush is in office, the more susceptible America is to retribution. The very act of supporting Bush promotes America's vulnerability and the probability of attack.

The truth is, impeaching George W. Bush and Dick Cheney sends an undeniable message to the rest of the world. It says, for five years Americans were ruled by a less than honorable man. A hated man. It says that the people and elected leaders of America recognize the unConstitutional, immoral and illegal acts committed by this man. It says that in recognition of the need for world peace and a desire to promote the compassion of our nation, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney must go. It says that once these criminals are gone, America will prosper from renewed respect. It says that honorable lawmakers will not support and uphold the wretched acts of George Bush and Dick Cheney. It says that the time has come to take the nation back, counsel it, heal it and make it the humane and rational model it was Constitutionally ordained to be.
